Delivery

Every instrument leaving OHV Guitars is handled, checked and packed by our team in Horncastle.
Need your order for a particular date, have a question about delivery or want us to check something before dispatch? Call us. We will always give you an honest answer rather than make a promise the courier may not keep.

UK delivery charges

Standard UK delivery is free on orders over £50.
This includes Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and UK islands.
Delivery charges for orders under £50 will be shown at checkout before payment.
Exceptionally large, heavy or difficult-to-ship items may require a specialist delivery service. Where an additional charge is unavoidable, we will contact you before dispatch and will not proceed without your agreement.
You may cancel for a full refund if you do not wish to accept an additional delivery charge.

Dispatch times

Orders placed before 1pm from Monday to Friday will normally be dispatched the same working day, provided the item is in stock and no additional payment, address or security checks are required.
Orders placed after 1pm, at weekends or on bank holidays will normally be dispatched on the next working day.
During exceptionally busy periods or severe weather, dispatch may take a little longer. We will contact you if there is a significant delay.

Delivery services

Guitars, amplifiers and larger parcels are normally sent using an insured FedEx service.
Smaller and lighter items may be sent by Royal Mail or another suitable tracked service.
Most mainland UK instrument orders are sent using a next-working-day service. This is the service requested from the courier rather than an absolute guarantee of arrival on the following day.
Northern Ireland, Highlands, islands and other remote postcodes may take longer.
Tracking information will be supplied when available.

Packing and checking

We take particular care when sending instruments and vintage equipment.
Items are checked before dispatch and packed using suitable protective materials. Where appropriate, vulnerable parts may be removed or secured for transport and placed safely inside the case or packaging.
We may reuse a strong, suitable instrument box where it provides safer protection than the item’s original packaging.
Please open the parcel carefully and retain the packaging until you are certain that you are keeping the item.

High-value orders

High-value orders may require additional payment or identity checks before dispatch.
We may also require a signature on delivery or contact you to confirm the safest delivery arrangements.
These checks are there to protect both the customer and OHV Guitars and may occasionally delay same-day dispatch.

Delivery address

Please check that the delivery address is complete and correct before placing your order.
Contact us immediately if an address needs changing. Once an order has entered the courier network, we may not be able to redirect it.
For some high-value transactions, we may only be able to deliver to an address confirmed by the payment provider.

Missed deliveries

The courier will normally provide instructions for rearranging a missed delivery or collecting the parcel from an approved location.
Additional charges caused by repeated failed delivery attempts, refusal of delivery or an incorrect address may be passed on where reasonably incurred.

Damage in transit

Please inspect the parcel and item as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If anything appears damaged, keep all packaging and contact us promptly with photographs of:
* The outside of the parcel
* The internal packaging
* The damaged item
This allows us to raise a courier claim and arrange the appropriate solution quickly.
Reporting damage promptly helps us investigate it, but does not remove your statutory rights.

Collection from the shop

Orders may be collected from our Horncastle shop by prior arrangement.
Please wait until we confirm that the order is ready and bring your order details and suitable identification.

Delivery area

Our standard website delivery service is for UK addresses.
Please contact us before ordering if you require delivery outside the UK. We may be unable to ship certain instruments internationally because of courier, insurance, tax or material restrictions.
