1981 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, made in the USA and finished in Tobacco Sunburst.
This well-preserved example retains its original Gibson mini-humbuckers and is supplied with its original Gibson Protector, commonly known as the “chainsaw” case.
The three-piece maple neck has developed a wonderfully smooth, genuinely played-in feel, while the body shows small dings, scratches and other honest signs of use.

Description
This Gibson Les Paul Deluxe was made in the USA in 1981 and is finished in Tobacco Sunburst.
Its mahogany body and carved maple top are paired with a set three-piece maple neck, complete with the small volute associated with Gibson instruments from this period. The bound rosewood fingerboard has 22 frets and trapezoid position markers.
Importantly, the original Gibson mini-humbuckers are still present. Their clearer, more focused voice is a major part of what separates the Deluxe from a Les Paul fitted with full-sized humbuckers, while retaining plenty of body and drive.
This particular pair sound excellent and make a strong case for the mini-humbucker, a pickup that has never received quite as much affection as it deserves.
The neck has been thoroughly played in and now has an exceptionally smooth and comfortable feel. This is real wear earned through use, not something ordered from the Custom Shop with an additional invoice attached.
The body shows a few small dings, scratches and general signs of use, but the guitar has survived remarkably well for its age. It remains a handsome and honest early 1980s Les Paul rather than an over-preserved ornament.
At 4.2 kg, it has the reassuring substance expected from a Les Paul of this period.
